Granada House welcomes four new Board Members – by Erin Cohen

Four New Board Members Installed

~by Erin Cohen

I had the distinct pleasure of being installed as a member of the Board of Directors in March along with John Riley. We were warmly welcomed by Vijay and the Board, and then we jumped right in and joined the Fundraising Committee. John comes from a hospitality sales and fundraising background. His voice and expertise has already been invaluable. I built a career in education as a teacher and admissions officer and know how vital building relationships can be in organizations. Who knew that John and I wouldn’t be the newest members of the board for long? Monica Mahoney and Jason Wise were introduced to the board in late April and the Board voted to accept their nominations during the May meeting. They both bring a wealth of knowledge to the Board. Jason, once a copywriter in advertising, and now a theater teacher, brings a passion to help Granada House build a stronger message around their services and marketing. Monica is currently an Application Support Engineer for a tech company and has a wealth of experience writing grants. Her talents will help serve the efforts of Vijay and the Board since applying for various grants over the next year will be integral to Granada House’s mission and goals.
It’s an exciting time to be on the Board of Directors as we enter a new phase to help develop a stronger women’s program .The Board’s energy is infectious and the time for change is now.
